CHILD'S EYES

Tiny tears of sadness touch this wanderer’s soul

I’d kind of like to move along – find my spirit’s flow

Something deep inside me – a pain from long ago

Moves me to remember and prays that I might go

Into the heart where love resides

Into the moment of my child’s eyes

The road’s been bare and empty – a dusty trail at best

Strewn with broken memories I tried hard to forget

A trembling voice kept calling from a silence deep and wide

I came upon a darkness – Would I dare to go inside

Into the heart where love resides

Into the moment of my child’s eyes

How long will I run from who I am?

Chasing illusions just to prove that I’m a man

Truth be told I could run until I’m gray

But these tears will keep falling if I turn and walk away

But this time was different – I would not be deterred

And through the rubble of my life a whisper could be heard

“I am the sole survivor – I’m your love’s unfettered song

Your wandering days are over now – I’ve been here all along”

I am the heart where love resides

I am the moment – Now we’re alive

Into the moment of my child’s eyes
