THE LEDGE

There I was on the crag of a cliff praying for direction

One step forward, one step back – The earth began to sway

Down below, the scent of sin, crying for redemption

Singed by fire, blessed by blood, I head off on my way

It was a cold wind that met me

Riding on the razor’s edge

It was her sweet smile that led me – safely from the ledge

Rising from that cauldron of pain

A rumbling woke my memory

Scenes of shivering in the pouring rain set right to my soul

I looked inside to find a man – I searched to find his reason

But all I saw was a lonely boy – lost and far from home

Born of the fire of a distant world

Where loving reigns – They douse all pain with tears of the sun

Follow the moon until you find the velvet twine

Ease your mind

This story is kind

There I was in a crystalline cave deep inside her mountain

Through the silence I hear her say

“You’re my favorite one”

I opened up to receive her love – It felt just like a fountain

Revealing every broken dream that had me on the run
